Little Bird Therapies

Blending Holistic Healthcare With Science

Jessica Chung

Why am I different? I blend unique manual therapy methods and integrate them with movement and postural assessment. I also believe that obtaining optimal health is a community effort.

What I mean by community: I work with you as a part of your personal healthcare team that may include PT’s, MD’s, and other healthcare professionals.

It’s great to have all of us on the same page working towards your recovery. And it’s essential that we consider all of your history, concerns, and current efforts, to help establish a plan of care that is efficient and effective.

My Journey Throughout my active life, I have sustained many injuries including torn muscles and spinal injuries, which has given me an acute understanding of the process of recovery with all of its many twists and turns.

In the fall of 2012, I sustained my most devastating setback: a torn disc in my lower back. I had to drop out of school at a dance conservatory and I could hardly walk for months. It was an extremely dark time in my life. After seeking out the expertise of both traditional and alternative rehabilitation, I made some of the most gains through the combination of different forms of soft tissue manipulation and neuromuscular repatterining.

I aim to apply the same methods during your session that I use in my own healthcare. If you are interested in knowing more, please sign up for my newsletter and start receiving information on everything from yoga to postural therapy.

I am a modern dancer, yoga teacher, and herbal enthusiast, and currently in the process of applying for PT school! Life is busy but I am blessed.

I have studied with physical therapists at post-graduate programs such as the Institute of Structural Medicine and the Jones Institute. For 10 years, I have been honing my skills in structural integration, myofascial release, and just recently, the Strain-Counterstrain method.

I have also completed many cadaver courses including fresh dissection classes that have given me a lot of perspective into what is happening underneath our skin. My other interests include clinical herbalism and I am currently chipping away at programs with Rosalee de la Foret and Karta Purkh Singh Khalsa.

I am also quite active in the realm of movement given my extensive background in dance and yoga. For the better part of 15 years, I have studied with world famous dancers, choreographers, and movers from all around the world. I have also practiced yoga since the age of 14 and have completed several yoga programs. I am a certified yoga instructor through teachers that include Ana Forrest, Theresa Elliot, and Kathryn Payne. Currently, I am a volunteer with Yoga Behind Bars and am proud to be a part of the teaching team at King County Correctional.
